... and my underwear was too tight

I'm moving upstairs Monday, which is cool, to a new bigger office, which will be a relief with the number of meetings I hold.
However.

It is across the hall from a suite full of paperwork specialists. They seem to have enough time on their hands to make a great deal of noise, socializing in yells from office to office - and they leave the suite door open, which means the offices across the hall get to . . . share.

Me: ... and I am of the correct gender and raisin' to get away with sayin' this. They cackle like a bunch of old biddies at a church picnic. Seriously. I just don't need to know some of the things they yell back and forth at each other.

Like the other day, one women started with the 'Woo-whee, my underwire is digging in - my bra is too tight. I did not need ot know that.
I think my officemate is looking forward to me moving in and hoping I'll get ticked off enough to tell them to shut up.

My colleague laughs. Well, don't tell them to shut up yet; we need them over the next few months. You'll just be really irritated when they waste time going on like that and *still* don't finish your stuff.

Colleague watches boss-person approach me from behind and arrive just in time to hear me exclaim...

Me: I don't know. I think it'd be interesting to meet with them and say 'Now, I know you have difficulty working cause your underwear is too tight, but I still need you to meet your deadline.'

Boss-person stops in shock. Opens mouth. Closes mouth. Raises hand. Lowers hand. Walks away demonstrating discretion is the better part of valor.

You know, at least once a week someone asks me Did you really say that?

Maybe there is a salient reason.

P.S. Em - no, NASA is not forbidding people to talk about that movie. It's a silly rumor. The producers on 'The Day After Tomorrow' didn't sign the cooperation agreement, so NASA's just not doing specific support of the production (which they did for Armageddon and Space Cowboys, whose producers did sign the cooperation agreement).

Check the press release.
